Logo Contest – Help Create A Super Brand
I have done the extensive research, and it is now time to start putting things into action.
As per my blog post on Sunday, I will be seeking to get at least 2 brands off the ground by year-end.
After browsing through our extensive domain portfolio, and conducting extensive research, I have decided to start the development process for Aeroplanes.com.
Aeroplanes.com is one of our top domain names. When I acquitted this domain name some years ago, I immediately knew that this domain was not for resale.
I listed Aeroplanes.com for sale at here at eBusinessDomains.com for the sole purpose of adding some class and prestige to our domain marketplace. However, Aeroplanes.com was never really for sale. I have received well over 100 offers for this domain name. Given my love and passion for flying and aeroplanes, I would only consider a damn good 7-figure offer.
In order to get a wide range of logo design concepts, we have decided to run a logo contest over at 99Designs.com.
To learn more about the contest, click here to visit the actual contest page at 99Designs.com or simply visit:
http://ebd.me/airlogo
If you are not familiar with 99Designs.com, make sure you read the design brief, which you can find by clicking here or simply visiting:
http://ebd.me/airbrief
Of course the contest is only open to those that possess the requisite creative and design skills. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help by reviewing, rating and commenting on the designs that will be submitted, where possible.

Sounds exciting…
Will be intersting to see the LOgo Contest Entries…
Are you planning to sell ad space on the site when it is done… or use aff. prog. and or adsense or similar ??

Thanks Patricia!
The concepts submitted so far are looking up.
I think it will be wise to sell ad space on the site, but I may just provide advertising through a third party. I will need to have this site run on autopilot as much as possible so that we can spend more time on branding and marketing.
Google Adsense will be a BIG NO-NO. I believe Google ads on a major branded site devalues the brand. It just look cheap and tacky, IMHO.
Adsense is great for minisites, but when you do major development, you should defintely have much bigger fishes to fry in terms of revenue generation.
We are still researching the right partners to work with for this site in terms of selling travel bookings and related products and services. But when this project gets underway, it will be our pride and joy!

Not trying to be a jerk here, but just wanted to let you know that I had a very negative reaction to what you posted here. If I understand correctly, you listed a domain for sale that wasn’t really for sale. In the process you wasted the time of “well over 100″ people who took the time to write you an offer? Rather than adding prestige to your domain marketplace, you ensured that people think of it as a sham where what is on offer may not really be for sale. Note that I was not one of the people who made an offer.

@Jon,
You are not being a jerk. You sound more like a typical domainer who thinks everything regarding domain names is a scam and a sham, if it is beyond your comprehension.
You see, they say, “empty barrels make the most noise.” The people that cry “scam” and “sham” the most are always those who either have domains with no value, or those who have no money to invest.
I am not going to justify my post, as I believe the message is clear.
However, it would be a sham/scam/fraud or whatever, if I was trying to sell domains that I did not own, or intended on collecting buyers’ money without delivering the domain names.
Everything is for sale, when the right price is offered.
I have spent a lot of money and time creating and building the eBusinessDomains.com brand. It is quite clear in the quality of the site and the level of blogging. Why on earth would I want to throw all of that away by scamming people?
Lose the mentality Jon. Such thinking is can be a disease of the mind… and I am not trying to be nasty, just being honest.
Those 100 people wasted their time by submitting domain offers that would never get accepted in a million years.
