Courtroom Transcripts

Filed under: Domain Auctions, Premium Domains — Tags: , — Kevin Jackson @ 1:37 pm

When one thinks of courtroom transcripts they normally think of courtroom dramas concerning celebrities. Whether it is the OJ Simpson case, a weeping judge or well, some nasty celebrity divorce.

The press can’t wait to get their hands on the transcripts and we can’t wait to read or hear those nasty little secrets that had to be revealed.

However, courtroom transcripts are much more important than that. They are much more important than you could ever imagine!

My accounting career has taken me across many industries, business sectors and roles. One such role is complex financial fraud investigation with a top UK law enforcement agency. I have said too much there.

Well, one thing that caught me by surprise is the dependence that all legal firms and organisations have on courtroom transcripts. It is a vital tool both for the defence and prosecution lawyers. Almost every case will have their courtroom transcripts ordered for legal purposes.

This is big business and the companies that offer this service make a killing. Courtroom transcripts are not cheap, and it is not an optional requirement for most law firms. It is a must have weapon for just about any case that will make it to court.

Lawyers use them to build their case, find weaknesses in testimony, or to examine similar cases. I would think that lawyers use them in every appeal case.

If you are seeking to acquire keyword- rich domain names for popular business niches, then you will be interested in CourtroomTranscripts.com.

This is a category-killer, niche busting and keyword-rich premium domain name. It is the exact match for a very popular term, product and service all in one.

CourtroomTranscripts.com is now on auction in the Moniker TRAFFIC Domain Conference Extended Auction at a very low reserve.

Click here to bid on CourtroomTranscripts.com. The auction ends Thursday, May 7, 12:15 PM PT.

Online Retail Sales Set To Rise 15%, How Can Domainers Profit?

Filed under: Internet Marketing, Premium Domains — Tags: , , — Kevin Jackson @ 9:08 pm

Here in the UK, and am sure in the USA and other countries it is predicted that online sales will trend upwards while high street will experience a retail sale slump.

High street sales figures are the worst for three years, according to a new report.

The KPMG/British Retail Consortium Retail Sales Monitor shows that total sales are lower than a year ago for the first time since April 2005.

The research indicates that clothing and footwear sales have remained poor and discount-driven, while furniture and homewares fell further below last year’s levels, despite the massive discounts and promotions.

However, non-food non-store sales in October were 16.6% higher than a year ago, and figures released separately by IMRG and Capgemini suggest that a 15% increase in year on year internet sales is likely in the run-up to the Christmas period.

It is predicted that British shoppers online will spend a total of £13.16bn this festive season. This will represent a 15% rise year-on-year, according to the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index. This figure is equivalent to £215 being spent online by each person in the UK.

So how can domainers benefit from this expected increase in online spending? Simply build brands and websites that will sell what customers are buying.

Domainers can either build websites to sell their own merchandise or participate in affiliate marketing. High traffic domains can also be forwarded to affiliate pages (be careful not to infringe of any trademarks).

Visit the websites for online retailers and research their affiliate programs and choose a few that you could promote and benefit from. PPC may increase during the Christmas season, but if you get your affiliate marketing right, you just might make a decent fortune.

Real Cost of a Premium Domain Name

Filed under: Premium Domains — Tags: , — Kevin Jackson @ 12:46 pm

There are still millions of domain names that can be registered via a domain registrar for as low as $9.99. A company that’s launching a new website, or is redesigning an existing one will eventually get to the point where they will have to consider which domain name to use.

They will start brainstorming the different domain possibilities, and make a decision to register a new domain name, use their existing one, or buy a premium domain name.

It is now extremely difficult to find an unregistered domain name of any brandable quality. Some reputable companies clearly didn’t put much thought into the domain name they chose to use a few years ago. It means that if a company wishes to have a top quality brandable domain name, they will mostly likely have to acquire a premium domain name from the domain aftermarket (for example, eBusinessDomains.com).

The main obstacle that some companies face today, is how to justify the expenditure required for a premium domain name. Why buy a premium domain name for $25,000 when they could simply register a new domain name for as low as $9.99 at a domain registrar such as Widest.com?

In a nutshell, a premium domain name will help you improve Your marketing/branding and visibility, build credibility and trust, build your brand, protect your image and acquire more traffic/sales leads. A quality domain is an investment.

You can learn more of the benefits mentioned above by reading our “Choosing Domains” article.

Let us look at the cost of a domain name by analyzing the cost that you could incur in your attempt to promote your business without the use of a premium domain name.

We will illustrate this with the cost of paid per click advertisements. A company has the choice of registering a useless and horrible name for $9.99 or buying a premium domain name for $25,000.

The premium domain name has the keywords that the company pays a $4 cost per click for. The exact keyword phrase generates approximately 250,000 searches per month. If this company acquires this premium domain name, they could build a new website, with each page designed carefully with search engine optimisation (SEO) in mind.

Because the domain already has the keywords, and pages were optimised for those said keywords, it is highly likely that the website could get a number one, two or three organic search engine ranking. This could result in over 50 percent of all of the clicks. Even if they only had a number two or number three ranking, we could expect at least 15 percent click-through ratio.

50 percent of the clicks from 250,000 searches at a $4 cost per click would equate to $500,000 (50% x 250,000 x $4). This means that the company would effectively get free advertisement worth $500,000 per month.

By obtaining a premium domain name and optimising for the keywords, the domain would not only pay for itself within a month, but it would substantially increase revenues, and minimise marketing costs.

When buying a premium domain name, do not only consider the financial costs, but take into consideration the opportunity costs as well. A premium domain is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. However the seller would never sell a domain for less that what the domain is worth to the seller. So really, a domain name is worth what the buyer and seller can agree on to make a deal.

How much a domain name is worth to a buyer depends on the benefits, whether it be financial or marketing advantage, that the buyer is able to obtain from its use.

Domain sellers should study every possible use of their premium domains and be sure not to sell gold bars for peanuts.

Domain Auction

Three of our domains will be auctioned off at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. live domain name auction at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott in New York City on September 25th 2008.

Here is our list:
Displace.com
Menaces.com
PropertyRates.com

Bids may be placed either in person (with paid admission to the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference) or online using SnapNames.com’s secure live auction software.

The list of domains to be auctioned is not yet finalised, and it is believed that approximately 250 of the 2,100 domains on the list will make it to the live auction.

Based on the recent statistics, approximately 5% of the domains will sell, which works out to be about 105 domains. There will be five separate auctions at the event, which could result in either far less sales, or much lower transaction amounts.

It will be very interesting to see the outcome of all the domain auctions.

To read more about this auction event, visit the official site at:
Live & Extended Online Auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. New York.
