Susan Boyle, You Really Inspire me!
Last night I watched the first live semi-final of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent. It was indeed a fantastic line up of acts, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the show; well almost every minute.
But of course, without a shadow of a doubt, the real star of the show was Susan Boyle. She got me into watching the show in the first place after she became a worldwide superstar following her draw-dropping audition.
Tonight, I was expecting yet another brilliant performance, but it was just more than brilliant. I had to rewind and watch the performance close to ten times over. I almost cried.
Absolutely and utterly fantastic!!
Susan Boyle has really got talent. Not only has she got talent, but also she has got the real raw talent. The natural talent. The real deal. She is like a rough diamond that is worth millions without even been polished.
But what impresses me about this woman is that she is just an ordinary woman. She is not a superstar who has sold million of records, well, at least not yet.
When she auditioned, everyone thought she was just “another dreamer”. But when she opened her mouth she really did silenced the lambs.
In these hard economic times where so many people are really feeling the pinch, globally, we needed something to inspire us. Something to hold onto. Something real. For some of us, we believe in God, so we are OK.
But, for the wider world, perhaps we thought we got the hope we needed when President Barack Obama was elected. And perhaps we got it. But there was still something missing.
We needed inspiration.
This is what Susan Boyle did for us. She took hope to another level. She gave some people another reason to dream, aspire and reach for the skies. You can be ordinary for almost 50 years, and suddenly step into your destiny.
But while the world is raving about her talent, they are missing something. Something really, really important.
Some weeks ago, I was watching a documentary about the extreme British weather. It was a 3-part series, one about wind, one about rain and the other about snow.
They were all very fascinating to watch. However, the one about snow, like Susan Boyle, taught me or reaffirmed a valuable lesson about life.
In school, I had learnt that water freezes at zero degrees Celsius. For so many years I had believed that once the temperature was zero degrees Celsius, the water would automatically freeze. But this is not the case.
For snow to form, the water droplets from the clouds, despite how cold the temperature is, will need a foreign substance, a nucleus. They need something like dust or pollution in order to form snow. Ice needs some to form around.
In the documentary, they showed an experiment to illustrate this. They placed 4 test tubes filled with water in a freezer that had a temperature of -11 degrees Celsius, and left them locked inside for a while.
A bit later they opened the freezer only to discover that only 3 of the test tubes had been frozen. The unfrozen test tube contained “pure” water. The presenter then took a tiny chip of ice and then dropped it in the unfrozen test tube. And immediately, the entire test tube became ice, right before our eyes!!!
You see, Susan Boyle was like the water in the test tube. The show Britain’s Got Talent was the freezer. The chip of ice was Susan’s decision and act to attend the audition.
Susan Boyle has the talent, and the of course the title of the show “Britain’s Got Talent” says it all. So all Susan had to do was just show up.
Sometimes we dream, we do the research and find out what to do. But until we take action, that very first step, we will never become “ice”. Our dreams need a nucleus. And sometimes all we need is something as small as dust. Because, sometimes all we need is just that first step.
Create a nucleus for your dreams by taking the first step.
Faith without action is DEAD (James 2:17).
The Internet has made a lot of dreams come true for many. There are a lot of good domain deals out there. You just have to choose a niche, choose the right premium domain name and start that simple first step in starting a successful ebusiness.
How long will you sit in sub-zero temperature without freezing? Show the world the “Susan Boyle” that’s in you!

@areyougay,
I don’t think your water will be freezing anytime soon, as you are too far away from the freezer.
Funny you should ask me if am gay, made me laugh. Either you have a damn good sense of humor or you are just a loser. If I was gay, would that make you a million dollars tomorrow, or would it give you some sort of sexual gratification? Get a life!

Kevin with all respect I wouldn’t mind if you were gay – no skin off my nose.
I just though it was a very gay article thats all.
In a way its good that Ms Boyle is doing so well thus far – we live in such a looks obsessed world so it’s good for someone with talent and who looks like a baboon is doing well !
She does scare me though (oops maybe I’m gay ?!?!?!?!) If I was a real man I wouldn’t be so intimidated by such a butch baboonesqe lady !
I’m off to do some serious self-analysis, I’ll get back to you with my findings.

I personally cannot see why what was intended to be an inspirational blog post should give the slightest impression that the author is gay.
Are we still living in a time when men are not supposed to openly express their inner-feelings?
If it really bothers you or anyone else for that matter, I can reassure you that I am and will always be 500% straight.
