It is Saturday, again!!!
This is a quick post as I got to join some peeps for a trip to the British seaside. It’s one of those days when you visit the stony, not-so-white sandy beaches and pretend that you are in Jamaica.
Good thing is that I was in the Caribbean only a few weeks ago, so it is just more for the trip and social, rather than for the beach life.
Anyway, well am still fuming about people stealing my ideas. I am not amused in any sense whatsoever! I had to break from my busy schedule to slap a 2 seconds blog post earlier in the week when I realised that someone has stolen my idea, AGAIN!
The first time they did it, they made sure to do it when I blogged about being on vacation in Barbados.
This time whe they announced it , they tried to disguise it as some state of their domain empire blog post. Then they had the bloody nerves to mention the word “spying”. Hmm… If you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones.
Now this is going to get really nasty, I promise you that much. Because you see, there are some people who seem to think that they can trawl people’s blog and website, steal/copy their idea, make some grand blog post and/or press release about it and pretend as if everything is OK.
Then on top of it they get their little kiss-ass domain blogger friends to blog about their “huge developments” with much hype and PR BS. Some of these domain bloggers seem to think that they are some sort of Wall Street Journal reporter! Oh, thank God for UDRP, as it has given some blog something dependable to blog about (so boring).
Now, if you want to parade yourself as some domaining genius the least you can do is to be original and get your own damn ideas.
I won’t share any details here. People know who they are.
Here is a warning:
If you steal any more of my ideas and parade them as if they are your own, I will name you and shame you. And don’t be fooled. I won’t be doing it via a blog post. It will be done via a press release of the highest calibre.

Feel better now? hehe
Well first of all, you got my curiousity going as to what the ideas were. And secondly, I’m kind of finding it hard to understand how someone trying out your ideas could win the game. I mean, it’s more like they are the front runners to balls it up… then you come along and show them how you really visioned it.
Another way to look at it might be like a recipe for your favourite exotic dish. So you publish the recipe but it doesn’t make us all rush out and cook, let alone make money at it. You publishing the recipe makes you the “expert” and, besides, you have more than one recipe, right?
Sorry, not a critism actually, just my thought!

@Mark,
Yes, I feel much better now. I went and inhaled some sea breeze, had some cotton candy, played in the sand and I’m now over with the childish tantrums!
Anyway, thanks for your comments. I appreciate the fact you may be curious and would have liked a bit more information. But, I will refrain from the naming and shaming for now.
Now lets be real here. I am not stupid to be whining about someone stealing my ideas. This is the Internet, which is really an open sepulchre. People copy and use other people’s ideas, articles, graphics, etc. on a daily basis.
What I am really incensed about here is not the act itself, but how this person goes about doing it.
He steals/copies your idea, blogs about, does a press release, then pays his domain blogging friends to write an article about it, and make him look like some genius. It seems like this is something that this guy has been doing for while.
But who wouldn’t? You just sit on your ass, copy other people’s ideas and try to make a fortune in the process.
You can do that sort of thing with other people, but not with me. The domain community is quite small and it will be hard to go unnoticed.
By the way, I had implemented my ideas long before this guy started. The first idea is still work in progress, but I blogged about it from as far back as April/May. This is our eBusiness In A Box service, which will be coming on stream soon.
Now do your research…
