The Domain Aftermarket refers to the outlets/websites where pre-owned/registered domain names are actively traded.

The buying and selling and selling of domain names is a big and successful business for many. There are individuals who do that for a living, similar to how stock market investors buy and sell stocks. The only major deference is that domain values go up, and up, and are continuing to rise.

Unlike stocks, domains are limited. Well, that’s a bit untrue, as Verisign, the registry that handles the registration of Top Level Domains such as .com and .net has reported record domain registration to the tune of 168 million.

The sheer number of registration and potentially new registration is actually what makes domain names valuable. Each and every domain name is clambering for attention, but only just a handful will stand out in the crowd.

Like any commodity, some are valuable and some are useless. The real gems of domain names are very limited. These gems include generic domains such as Aeroplanes.com, and premium domains such as PropertyRates.com.

Businesses gain credibility by utilising premium and generic domains to brand their ebusinesses. These businesses will retain more customers as their website names are more memorable.

The best domain names are already registered. However, companies wishing to obtain an ideal premium and brandable domain names can still purchase such domains on aftermarket domain market places such as eBusinessDomains.com.

There are quite a few websites out there selling domain names, such as eBusinessDomains.com and Exdon.com. These websites sell domain names that are already registered.

Domains are priced based on a variety of factors such as the TLD, where .com domains fetch the highest prices, the generic and premium quality of the domain and the earnings that the domain name is currently generating.

Businesses can still choose to register brand new domain names at registrars such as Widest.com. However, finding that perfect domain name is becoming more and more difficult each day. This has a knock on effect on the prices of aftermarket domains, as they tend to increase in value, daily.
