Has Joe Become A Domainer?
Kevin Jackson October 30, 2008 1

Joe The Plumber is now monetizing his website with Google and banner ads. It also appears as if the plumber has gone into the t-shirt business. He might just earn enough to pass the $250,000 benchmark.

Monetization of the site is indeed a sensible move as Joe is still enjoying a surge in traffic to his website, thanks to the last US presidential debate.

In the last debate, John McCain mentioned the plumber from Toledo, Ohio, early on in the debate as an example of the kind of people who would suffer under Obama’s tax plans. From that point on, it seemed as if the two opponents could barely get enough of Joe the Plumber, whose real name is Joe Wurzelbacher.

Yesterday’s Alexa’s traffic ranking for JoeThePlumber.com is 76,945. There are also a few changes to the website, which now makes it look a bit more presentable.

Joe surely needs to make the extra cash from his website, as he has been spotted standing behind John McCain and Sarah Palin at the Republican election rallies. Doubt he would get much plumbing done. Or perhaps he is being paid to boycott his plumbing for the time being by the McCain camp?

That site is not owned by the “Joe the Plumber” made famous by the McCain campaign. It is owned by a plumber in Amarillo, Texas. He just happened to own JoethePlumber.com.

This information kind of takes the point out of your post.
