Regardless of the chaos and desperation that the Financial Markets worldwide are experiencing right now, the domain name aftermarket is showing no sign of slowing down.

TRAFFIC, the domain industry’s biggest conference, will draw to an end today, after a very exciting week in domain sales. The conference had a record four live domain auctions which netted a total of $3.9 million from the sale of just 212 domains. That’s an average of $18,396 per domain name.

The biggest domain sale happened on Thursday when the hammer went down on FinancialAid.com for $800,000, during the Moniker Live Auction.

Moniker conducted a brief auction on Tuesday, the opening day of the conference, which netted $96,750.

This was followed by the Rick Latona auction that grossed $681,850 in sales. Aftermarket.com made their live auction debut and ended up selling 26 domains totalling $148,700 in sales.

Moniker over the years had been the sole auction provider at domain conferences. Their brand is now synonymous with domain auctions, especially the live events. It was no surprise therefore that they ended netting $2,967,500 from their second live auction at the event on Thursday.

Moniker also has an online extended auction which will last for a week until October 2nd.
